This is the view from our first stop driving from Sydney to Narooma, maybe 2 hours southwest of Sydney. Im standing on the edge of what must be a 1000 stone cliff (straight down), then the hill slopes down another 1500 feet to the ocean. You can see for about 40 or more miles.

Here is our humble cabin looking over the beach in Narooma. Quit spectacular!

Narooma Sunrise.

Narooma had to be seen to be believed.

Surf shop near Bells Beach.

Don't let these little waves fool you. This was a 15 foot swell, with some sets having 20+ foot faces (take a look at the wave below)! The paddle out was about a quarter mile or more through lots of white water. This shot was taken from way up on the cliff above Bells.

Here I am on one of the "little" inside waves. Looking from this angle I'm almost ashamed to say my heart was racing, because the waves look small from far away. It's a different story when you are out there! The water was a cool 50 degrees, and the wind was howling about 25 knots offshore. Great thrill.

This is Whale Beach, a few minutes drive north of Sydney. This is a really spectacular place.

Ah, this is more like it...smooth waist high surf and warmer water (going North in Australia warms you up!).
