CONSTRUCTION

February 6, 2006 (30 Minutes)
Cumulative build time, 5.5 hours

Finished drilling the chassis and removed the protective blue plastic. I added a hole for an octal slot.

DRILLING THE CHASSIS (now complete)

The chassis came with a protective plastic coating. I had three more holes to drill to finish up. To make it a family affair, I had my wife and daughter drill two of the final holes. They were very excited...really!

With the plastic coating removed you can see the nice quality holes left by the step bit. The staggered alignment of the two hole pairs in this photo is intentional.

Finished chassis. You can clearly see the hole for the octal tube (largest hole in the chassis). The
1 1/8" hole is a little large for my taste, but will work.

The underside of the chassis. Now it's time for paint.
